The AAG annual meeting is one of the largest annual geographical congresses worldwide. This year, almost eight thousands geographers, GIS specialists, environmental scientists, and other registrants participated from around the world for sharing the very latest in research, policy, and applications in geography, sustainability, and GIScience.

In fact, it was a great opportunity to discuss and share different research ideas within the international community. I gave an oral presentation of my PhD work, especially on conceptual framework and methodology in the context of household resilience to cyclone and storm surges. I got feedback and suggestions from international intellectual audience regarding the conceptual framework and methodology and had several informal discussions about my PhD project afterwards.

I diffused my works and ideas within the international community; several experts, PhD students and editors of international journals were present. I also built wide networks with the veteran geographers.
