The INQUA congress of 2019 took place in Dublin, Ireland, with over 3000 participants, who presented their Quaternary research of numerous disciplines in 2504 oral and 138 poster presentations.

I presented the preliminary results of my PhD studies in a talk in the Session “Quaternary evolution and depositional environments of the North Sea Basin”. This gave me the opportunity to discuss with experts in the fields of microfauna and sea-level reconstructions and of the North Sea area, which shall improve my research. I was also able to network with scientists from adjacent and connected disciplines, which can lead to promising possibilities for my future scientific career. Furthermore, I attended numerous very interesting talks, broadening my mind for further Quaternary research fields worldwide.

I want to thank the GSGS Committee for funding my participation in this conference. Due to the financial support, I got the chance to present my PhD studies to a wider audience for the first time and I am convinced that this will improve the outcome of my PhD thesis.
