Marcel Schubert, recently appointed a junior professor at the Humboldt Centre for Nano- and Biophotonics, has received an ERC Starting Grant. Congratulations! What a wonderful start of the new year!

Marcel was a member of the GatherLab at University of St Andrews several years ago and now runs a highly successful group of his own (https://schubert-lab.uni-koeln.de/).

Marcel’s project, HYPERION, will develop optical sequencing inside live cells using biointegrated nanolasers to study the mechanisms of genetic adaptation within living cells.
