In May 2026, I participated in my very first scientific conference: the European Geoscience Union (EGU)
in Vienna, Austria. This This conference gathered more than 20,000 scientists from diverse geoscientific fields (atmospheric sciences, biogeosciences, climate, geodynamics etc.). This was a great opportunity to meet and discuss with leading researchers from my field (atmospheric chemistry) whose feedback was valuable and motivating for the continuation of my work.
During an 8-minute oral presentation, I had the opportunity to present the results of the experimental campaign we conducted in summer 2025 with my team. By using a plant-chamber, I investigated the influence of combined stressors (herbivory and heat stress) on the biogenic emissions from two tree species: beeches and oaks.
Apart from the transdisciplinary short courses and scientific oral sessions, I attended the poster session related to atmospheric chemistry and had the opportunity to broaden my network by meeting PhD students from my field. These inspiring discussions gave me new insights and ideas for my project. I am looking forward to participating in the next edition of EGU and sharing even more exciting science! My participation in this significant conference was made possible thanks to the support of GSGS.
