Thank you, Malte!

Today, Malte Hennes came into the GSGS Office to hand in his well-used laptop, which he picked up two years ago. Over these past two years, Malte has been the first point of contact for many GSGS members, since he took care of all workshop registrations in his friendly and efficient way. But he did so much more: For one, he is open to trying out new ideas and methods and swiftly created the online Research Conference space on the proximity server GatherTown. Thus, he enabled us to meet, discuss and have poster sessions despite pandemic-related social distancing. Furthermore, Malte kept the GSGS Website up to date and managed the access to GSGS wiki pages. These are tedious tasks that generally only get noticed, when they are not done well. Thank you for documenting your tasks in the GSGS Office so well and for passing on your very hands-on knowledge, tips and tricks to your successor Eileen.

In all, it was a great pleasure and privilege working with you, Malte!

We cordially congratulate Malte on achieving his Bachelor’s degree in Geography with flying colours and wish him all the best for his Master’s studies in Frankfurt, where he can advertise the University of Cologne in his new hoody.
